At the start of the process, we were looking at a number of different neighborhoods in Chicago, so our home search was far from refined, but he nevertheless actively monitored a wide range of potential homes as they came on the market, securing us a tour of one in-demand home the day after it showed up on the private listings. After graciously taking us on many home tours in a tough buyer’s market, the house we ultimately went with was a new construction home, and again, Malcolm taught us all the necessary aspects and considerations relevant for crafting a competitive bid. And since our home was still under construction, the time from contract to closing was about 4 months, but Malcolm stayed with us the entire time. He advocated for our requests and preferences, he served as our intermediary with the builder and seller’s agent, and he even checked on the home progress for us when we didn’t have availability to check on it ourselves.
