In January my housing situation forced me to see if I was “at-least” qualified to buy a home. As a Veteran, I’m fortunate to not have to worry about the 20% downpayment ( $74k). As a Disabled Veteran I was able to waive the VA Fee ($8k). Most new construction sales offer closing cost assistance for those with qualifying credit scores, and to my surprise my credit is above 810. By March 30th I had the keys to a brand new house and only came out of pocket $6,000!
