Before choosing a realtor, ask yourself "Is this someone who is willing to find me the perfect house, even if it means a smaller commission?" If the answer is "no", you might reconsider your choice. Roxanne came recommended to us by a trustworthy friend, and we can see why. She is knowledgeable, savvy, more flexible than Elastigirl (squeezing in appts prior to my husband's am work shifts) and an absolute pleasure to work with. She has personal exposure to construction; she size up a pr operty's strengths and weaknesses in a glance. Equally important, however, was that she was personally invested in finding the perfect home for US. Her first priority was to make sure we were HAPPY with our home, and didn't steer us toward pricier properties at the top of our pre approval rating. She became a friend, who readily listened to all of our house rantings. This is a cutthroat market, with decent houses in our range disappearing minutes after listing on MLS. It was dispiriting. When we learned a friend was considering selling, and fell in love with his home, she waltzed us right through that FSBO home transaction via a single party listing. The seller never had to put the house on MLS, which saved him money, and simplified the process for all of us. Savvy, no? Who would do this? This is our first time as home owners, and the collaboration of this all-star team, with Roxanne and professionals from her VIP list, (including our kick butt mortgage lender), and the digital technology for document signing made the home buying process a CINCH.
