Where do I even start? I can't say enough nice things about my wife's and my time working Tom Stack. This was our very first property purchase of any kind and Tom came VERY well recommended from close friends. Tom has this incredible ability to balance his real estate prowess and "get things done" skills with a fun, relaxed, positive attitude. He walked us through every step of the process, answering all our questions, connecting us with his vast network of professionals (from handymen to inspectors to mortgage brokers, etc) and providing his wealth of knowledge along the way. Tom accompanied us to open houses, helped us understand what to look for in a home, and handled all the negotiations around repair items, contingencies and submitted our offer once we found a place we loved. He was extremely responsive the entire time and always laid things out for us in a way we understood them. He was completely in our corner and made the entire experience (which can definitely be stressful) an enjoyable ride. When we closed, he guided us through that process, and has checked in on us about repair items and suggested work to make sure we had all the info we need. Tom's marketing is very accurate because he really does make you feel like a rockstar. We will 100% be working with Tom for any real estate sales or purchases we may have in the future. I can honestly say that as we started on the home buying journey, we hoped we'd find a real estate agent that we got along with. Never once did I think we'd walk away from this with someone we considered a friend.

I have known Tom for almost 20 years. In those years, I have gotten hot on buying and selling in the Lamorinda area, only to decide that I am too busy to embark on a real estate adventure. At the conclusion of our very first call, Tom confidently told my husband and I to go ahead and prepare for getting the keys to our new home. We could tell from his tone that he was completely serious. Naturally, we had our doubts given the nature of the Bay Area real estate market (we bought our home in March 2022, a time when the market was at peak competitiveness for buyers). It also became clear he had no interest in just putting in the first home available for the sake of closing a deal. Tom approached the process through an objective, critical lens with a vision for what a home would bring years (if not decades) into the future. Normally, such a selective approach in a highly competitive market would have seemed unproductive. Tom, however, dedicates a tremendous amount of time and attention to analyzing disclosures and seeing prospective homes. We think he basically out-works the market to maintain and support his high standards. He was also instrumental in connecting us with lenders who maintain the same level of professionalism and attentiveness. It's abundantly clear Tom is held in high regard by his peers in the real estate industry & his clients. Given the important role relationships play in the home buying process, this seemed to be a major benefit in making the process more transparent and allowing us to be as competitive as possible when making offers. Obviously, these efforts were successful at completing the purchase of our first home. But what made that accomplishment feel even better is that we felt like we were in control and ended up with the home we truly wanted based on Tom’s advice and guidance through the process. Tom was very tenacious and dedicated to getting our house ready for showing on short notice. He was not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get to work. Tom is organized and was constantly staying on top of us to stay diligent and make our timeline. Tom helped us sell our house for a price that greatly exceeded our expectations. Working with Tom on my house buying adventure was a wonderful experience. As this was my first house, I had little idea of what to expect and wasn't even fully aware of what I was looking for. In just around 4 months or so he was able to help me navigate the insane housing market that exists in the bay area and secure a house that exceeded my expectations. I'd been to several open houses and talked to several agents over a few weekends by the time I met him at the last open house I decided to go to one weekend. I wasn't very interested in that specific house, but was just trying to get an idea of what was out there it wasn't long after I got there that he approached me. While we talked, he showed genuine interest in who I was and what I was looking for and expressed a strong interest to work with me as my buyer's agent. His enthusiasm to work with me made it clear to me that he would be a good agent to work with. Throughout the homebuying experience, he continued that enthusiasm and drive to get to know what I wanted/needed. There were several times that he noticed important issues with houses I was interested in and was able to guide me away from making the wrong decision by clearly communicating to me what he thought was wrong for me. I was very active myself in looking at what's on the market, but there were also times where he noticed a house that was on the market that I missed, or hadn't seen yet, that met criteria I was looking for. He always made himself available whenever I had questions or wanted to see a house, and was great to work with throughout the homebuying experience. He's shown he cares about the people he works with even after the homebuying process by checking in on me, giving contacts for contractors for work that needs done, and he even puts on music events at his house and invites people he's currently working with and has worked with in the past.

It was a double whammy joy - With Tom's wisdom and technical expertise, I both purchased the home of my dreams AND sold my home of 45 years within a few months period. And because he is a delightful guy of many talents in addition to real estate, the journey was a delight.
