After having worked with Susan Berry to sell my house in San Mateo, I would have to say that she was an extremely helpful and hands on agent from the very beginning. She was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the home selling process, and advised me about the home inspections, the marketing of the open house, the closing process, the taxes owed for the house sale, how to move and store my items, and much more. She answered all of my many emails, text messages, and phone calls very promptly (within one day at the latest). Susan did an excellent job of marketing and advertising my house on the open market. She had the first open house on a Saturday, three days after placing my house officially for sale; four days later, we had received over six offers, all of which were higher than the initial asking price. Susan had assured me that she would do her best to get a lot of advertising for this open house, and her efforts in marketing this house are no doubt what led to its very quick sale, and higher than expected selling price. The closing process went off very smoothly, and very quickly, thanks to Susan's hands on assistance. She even had a mobile notary come to my location to notarize the closing papers that I had to sign, just to make it that much easier and more convenient for me. After the closing papers and process were completed, most realtors likely would have been done. However, Susan took the time to bring up a number of tax matters related to this house sale that were very important. She explained the capital gains taxes, the step up basis, the extra forms that I would need to file, and much more. She made me aware of a numbers of tax matters that I had not known about.
