Buying and selling residential real estate is so important and so legally binding, making the right decisions are crucial. It also can get complicated very quickly. I don't understand why anyone would try to sell a home a home on their own, except for one word: ignorance of what they're getting into, or maybe they are penny wise and on their way to pound foolish. Steve Shanus was a godsend to Terri and I as we transitioned in our lives from the home we raised our children to a 55+ community. But it wasn't as if we just found the home ... Steve showed us 20-25 homes in different areas, including a second walk-through on three homes. At the same time, we were selling our home to our neighbor across the street, and one issue after another arose, dealing with governmental issues, and Steve's experience came shining through. While we didn't have to have any open houses or showings, this matter of selling our house took longer than buying our house. Thanks to Steve and the bank he recommended, we were able to get a bridge loan to ensure our purchase had gotten through. I could go on, and would, too, but my wife and I have a lot of unpacking to do. It's not much fun bumping into stuff at night because things aren't where they used to be.
