Summary - I'm glad that I did business with Skip on my first New Mexico home purchase and I will continue doing business with him in the future as well as refer him to friends and family. My story (Profile: neurotic engineer, beady eyed dad, entrepreneur, Navy vet) - I called Skip up a few days before flying my family to New Mexico from Portland, OR because the real estate that I had been working with wasn't scheduling viewings or preparing the weekend that I had slotted for us to view homes. Skip accepted me as a new client and immediately addressed all my concerns prior to flying in. He escorted the circus of a family that I'm apart of and I to 15 showings in 1 weekend. Back in 2022 I first met Skip Adams while house searching online for our move to Albuquerque. We found Skip’s Youtube channel and was impressed with his presentation of various aspects of Albuquerque. Skip was very gracious and showed us a few properties and we settled in Rio Rancho with the help of his capable agent, David Bender. Skip referred us very capable professionals from title company, lenders, inspectors, appraisers, etc. Few years later, our son moved to Albuquerque. Once a again, Skip’s team of professionals helped him find a house. Both transactions were smooth and easy. Fast forward to 2025, we decided to downsize and put our Rio Rancho house on the market. We chose to list with Skip since he had done such a good job for us before. Soon we had a contract with a very difficult buyer. That is when Skip’s professionalism and experience was very evident. The buyer had objections every step of the way with unreasonable requests. Skip had to diplomatically remind the buyer and buyer’s agent about the legal consequences of default. We even ended up putting the house back on the market thinking the deal was dead. Once again, the buyer changed his mind. This transaction was very time consuming for all of us, especially for Skip. Negotiations were tough, but Skip was able to help us navigate through a minefield to come out successful on the other side. Skip demonstrated a deep understanding of the real estate business. The business law side, the market environment, and how transactions are supposed to be conducted. How to handle difficult personalities. He was very patient through the whole process. Skip knows the market. He has a wealth of experience to guide a buyer or seller through any situation. He surrounds himself with very capable professionals. And is very easy to work with. We just closed on our new home that we purchased through Skip, and we couldn't have done it without him. We happened to come across his Youtube videos when we were still living on the east coast and only contemplating a move to ABQ. We found his videos very informative and decided to reach out to him. So glad we did. He was very patient answering our 1000+ questions. We set a date to visit the area, and he took the day to show us several houses that met our criteria. We then decided to move to the area into temporary housing, and wait for the home that was the one for us. Skip kept us up to date on what was coming on the market, and again was very responsive and patient - never pushy - showing us many more houses until we found the one for us. He was responsive and thorough as we moved through the purchase negotiations and closing stages. There were a few minor hiccups that arose during those stages where we were unsure of the best way to proceed.
