I decided to buy a house in mid-April 2024, which only gave me a month and a half before my lease was up at the house I was renting. Knowing that Rick Hooper, my neighbor and property manager, was also a real estate agent, I immediately sought help. As a first-time home buyer, I was terrified to start this process and all the responsibilities that come with it. Rick, however, met with me, explained the process, and assured me he would help me in every step, which allowed me to feel more comfortable. The house-buying process was not as difficult as I had imagined. Rick connected me with a trusted lender (City Bank), set me up with an app to look at houses, and made appointments to see the houses in person. My job is not very flexible with hours, but Rick made sure he was always available, even on weekends, to show me houses and drive around different neighborhoods. Once I found the house I wanted, Rick was very responsive and incredibly fast in making an offer. He got the owner to pay the closing fee, which was of great help to me. In less time than I ever imagined, I was moving into my new house! Overall, Rick is a great real estate agent.
