The Only Realtor You Need To Know!
We had just bought a house in another Northern California county where we learned that in different counties, the seller doesn’t pay all the realtor fees; some counties split the costs. We wanted a realtor whom we didn’t know through other people, so I wouldn’t worry about what they thought and their needs more than I needed to, since as a social worker that tends to occur with me. We wanted someone who was fair, realistic but willing to give our unusual property as much touting as we believed it deserved. We met Mike and we liked him immediately. Where another realtor was quite negative and belittling to us about what we felt the value of our house was, Mike listened and could see the potential. He was straight-forward about what improvements needed to happen and he was realistic about what we could net, but he was willing to listen, respect our opinion and appreciate the strengths of the property. His advice was always practical and astute. He was adept at acknowledging our point of view, listening to our choices, as well as listening to the market and to the feedback of the potential buyers and other realtors and advised us accordingly, always reminding us it was our decision. Mike was there at every crucial point, cleaning up messes that potential buyers left or the occasional neighborhood animal, which was vital, since we now lived out of the Sonoma area. He also is a capable problem-solver when an inevitable or even unforeseen obstacle arises. Mike advocated strongly for us and when we told him we were willing to compromise one last time, he told the buyer they were getting a good deal, and not to expect “a penny more.” When the buyer asked for more, he held to this. My husband and I work long hours. Mike was extremely flexible and allowed us to call him or text him or sign docs whenever, and bless him, he put up with my asking a million tedious questions, because I am the nerdy buyer who reads every little thing - and fears the worst.
