Many believe the age-old adage “home is where the heart is,” and Michael is no different. Having spent his childhood regularly visiting Atlantic Beach with his family, he has long been cultivating a love and appreciation for the Crystal Coast. This affinity for Fisherman’s Paradise finally hooked the House family as they relocated to Atlantic Beach fifteen years ago. There is no question that from the “highrises” of Down East, to Front Street of Beaufort, to Radio Island in Morehead City, to Highway 58 from Atlantic Beach to Emerald Isle, this is home for Michael.
Carteret County is particularly special to Michael because it is here where he fostered his love for teaching at West Carteret High School, something that continues to steer his life far beyond the classroom and into his career in real estate. Following ten memorable years as a high school educator in Morehead City, Cary, and Apex, he returns home where his heart has always remained, where his family resides, and where he reunites with his foundation of educating, advising, and encouraging people.
Michael believes in listening to and asking questions of others to get to know them as individuals, forming a relationship centered on trust and knowledge. Through clear communication and his core principles of integrity, hard work, and humor, Michael aims to ensure his clients are confident in their understanding of buying or selling their home. In his downtime, Michael enjoys cooking (shouldn’t all meals be Thanksgiving), watching and playing basketball and tennis (go Heels), traveling (the more the merrier), and doting on his two cats: Munkee and Celine (yes, she lives up to the diva name!)
