For years, I would drive through Shady Hollow and dream of owning a home in this neighborhood. Melinda made what seemed an impossible dream a reality. Purchasing a home in the spring of 2022 was a daunting task. Every time we found a home that we loved, we offered high and were outbid by insanely overinflated cash offers. Melinda was patient, attentive, and always positive. When an older home finally came on the market in Shady Hollow, Melinda made sure we were some of the first people through the door to see it. The listed price was a little over our budget -- we walked away feeling we couldn't compete considering all of our over asking price offers had been declined. Melinda wasn't discouraged. She stayed in contact with the seller's agent and within two days had contacted us to see what it would take for us to make an offer on the home. The sellers were motivated and didn't want to manage the continued inconvenience of showing the home. Melinda helped us get an offer in quickly and handled negotiations swiftly and efficiently to ensure that the deal was signed before anyone else had the opportunity to schedule a showing and get an offer on the table. In a time when homes were going for $100K+ over asking, we were able to purchase a home in our dream neighborhood for asking price with all closing costs covered by the seller. Two years later, with a little one in tow, we couldn't be more grateful.

Melinda recently helped us find our new home and the entire process couldn't have gone better. Melinda is very professional, responsive, knowledgable and enjoyable to work with. She listened to our requirements and quickly found us several options within the parameters of what we were looking for. Because Melinda is from Austin she knows so much about the neighborhoods and communities. Hopefully we'll stay put for a while, but if we move again we will definitely use Melinda. I cannot say enough great things about Melinda Lear! I would recommend her to anyone looking for real estate and I would use her again and again in a heartbeat! When my husband and I met Melinda we were new to the area. She was hosting an open house. We knew nothing about her. As we left the open house I told my husband that when the time came for us to look more seriously for a home, I wanted to work with Melinda. What I appreciated about her was her involvement. She was excellent in communicating with us through texts and emails. She always had a very positive attitude.
