I had a heck of a time starting my career as a young professional (years ago lol) so I was looking specifically for a younger agent to possibly help in getting their foundation set and gain some experience. Megan was very personable and stayed in contact while I was deciding whether to sell or stay. If she couldn't answer any questions, she was upfront about asking her HomeSmart team. The selling process was pretty seamless once initiated and tips for showings were offered. Once the bids came rolling in, her advice was sound and she presented the different options. Some criticisms....based on the market, I thought the listing price was 10-15K too low, but that is hard to predict I admit. Fortunately, the buyers were willing to go above asking and I received a fair offering when I look at other markets in the surrounding areas. Also and more importantly, the closing and other associated fees were not explained very well. I felt I was in the dark there. Especially when I was told by my buyers agent (in different area as I moved 2hrs away) that I was expected to cover the closing costs yet as the seller with Megan, I was told I had to cover the closing costs for that transaction. So it seems like I am responsible for the bulk of the closing costs as both seller and buyer. I'm still confused tbh. Megan was very respectful of my time, especially when the showings were in full swing. Since it was owner-occupied (and with a pet) we had a plan and she gave me ample warning and time to respond. Overall, Megan was extremely communicative, responsive to issues/questions and where she lacked in experience she had the foresight to ask her team and get the correct answers. I felt that she truly wanted to help others through what can be a stressful time as changing homes is never easy. Knowledge and confidence is only gained through experience so I hope I helped out in some small way.
