Selling homes and Solving Problems

Marissa went above and beyond our expectations of an agent. We’re FHB and we had a lot of question; Marissa picked up the phone day and night, without hesitation. Buying a home in the Bay Area can be discouraging, Marissa never gave up hope. We wouldn’t have our beautiful home if it wasn’t for our agent. Even after the first week of settling in, she still answered our calls when our washing machine flooded our kitchen and we didn't know how to use our home warranty to fix it. Thank you, Marissa!

Positive results with Marissa

Marissa is an excellent agent. She is knowledgeable of the real estate market trend. She offers suggestions to increase the curb appeal of the property to the targeted buyers. She even helps with spreading the gravel onto the side yard! Great to have Marissa on my side!

a force of nature and excellent agent

I’ve know Marissa as a friend and colleague for over 20 years. We met when she had a small PR company that was doing work for a tech startup that I was with. I’ve brought her in to multiple other companies that I’ve been involved in. She is one of the most dynamic and tenacious people I know. Through shear force of personality and relentlessness, she seems to be able to do just about anything she puts her mind to. She is a voluminous researcher. If she wants to figure out how to do something, it’s amazing how quickly and thoroughly she does all the relevant work. When she got started as a realtor, I wasn’t at all surprised that one of the first things she said to me was that I better use her when I sold my house. I feel strongly that excellent marketing skills and relentlessness are the key things that a good realtor with the right agency should bring to the table. Based on her ability to do the research and my investigation, I was convinced that Red Oak was a good agency for me to use and she landed at the right place. I was very impressed that she also know that her primary weakness was lack of experience in the realty world and she brought a fantastic second (Jeff Rosenbloom who has deep experience). Marissa used her magic to produce a lot of catchy social media materials that I believe helped bring people in to see the listing. Marissa and Jeff brought in some wonderful teams for doing work on the house before we listed, and they were very much able to roll with some unusual punches that I threw at them. Although the week we took offers was probably the worst week to do so in over a dozen years, Marissa was able to find us a buyer at what felt like the right price before the market got even more saturated. I would recommend Marissa to anyone looking to sell a house.

Sold & bought in 4 months in this market!

Selling and buying in four months, in this market, was a rollercoaster. But we are writing this from our lovely new home, and thankful to have worked with Marissa and Greg to guide us through the process. We met Marissa when she was helping to sell another unit in our building. We had heard good things about Red Oak and their knowledge of East Bay real estate from a friend. Marissa was friendly, energetic and above all a hustler (in the good sense!) which proved to be invaluable. She followed up and, introducing us to her Red Oak colleague, Greg Novak, we prepped our condo for sale. We had a formidable real estate team; Marissa with her tenacity and proactive attention to her clients, and Greg with his deep knowledge of the San Leandro market and expertise in savvy real estate deals that win. They had a network of excellent people (painters, stagers, inspectors) who got the place looking in tip-top shape as we listed in early May. But oh, the timing! The housing market was just starting to turn, and it was initially a harrowing experience. Yet Marissa was relentless—and found us a buyer at the right price. (Whew!) She continued to help us in our search for a single-family home, and when we found “the one,” the team moved quick and our pre-emptive offer was accepted. Marissa is assertive, creative and fearless—which is what you want, especially when things get hairy. And, more so than helping us find the right home, she also counseled against others that weren’t the right ones for our family given what she knew would make us happy. That is just as important given how emotional the whole process can be.

My advocate

Marissa put her heart into the effort of selling my home at a good price. She’s direct and lets you know what she thinks will put your home in the best possible situation for selling. I appreciate directness; frankly that’s why I hired her. One of the key things she did was to explain the interests of todays buyer and working with others identified those improvements that most resonated with that buyer. She then facilitated improvements with frequent visits to make sure things were done right. My house came out beautiful and it showed very well. I was very fortunate to sell at the peak of the market just before the Fed raised borrowing interest rates. I believe without the improvements my house might still be sitting on the market. Marissa also prepared a lot of social media information and conducted several showings that I hear resonated with potential buyers. There was also a lot of call backs to other agents that had shown my home to both get feedback on how the home showed and what prospective buyers thought of the home. Overall I’m very satisfied and would recommend her to others.
