A Master Class in Professionalism

We contacted Lynn because she had successfully managed the sale of a neighbor’s lake house for an above asking price. When we met with her we found her both personable and professional, but also very street smart. She knew what made a house attractive to buyers and she knows how to market a property and identify the target buyers. We have bought and sold many houses and other properties over the last five decades, but working with Lynn was an eye opener on what a first rate agent could do. She made specific recommendations on items to repair or change, e.g. painting a ceiling in an unfinished exercise room, removing an abandoned oil line where a tank had been removed, etc. She then brought here own staging materials to the house to make it better appeal to the target buyer audience. But to me her biggest strength was her superb management of the entire process, from listing to sale to contract to closing. A real master class. Specifically, she quickly realized that the buyer’s agent was not moving the process along. She slowly became the confident of the buyer, answering questions and helping him through the process. Watching the amount of effort she put in made me feel sorry that she didn’t get all of the commission, since she did most of the work. She helped us set the asking price, she predicted it would sell for over asking - and it did! We are now looking for another summer home and have, of course, asked Lynn to assist us. She knows our tastes, knows what to pass on and knows when to present a prospective home. And since we are now in Florida, we are doing this from a distance. Just today we had a very effective video tour of a home on which we plan to submit an offer. Because of the great experience we had selling our home, we trust her to provide honest guidance on the approach to take in seeking a new northern home.
