Believe it or not, a true description of the performance of a Real Estate Agent who surprised me.
Two or so months ago, a real estate purchase popped in my radar.
My son called me asking me to buy the house he rented because he liked it. I was in San Diego at the time of the phone call; it was already 6 p.m. The property was in Bakersfield, or about 270 miles away. Although, I am not a real estate investor, normally I handle stuff like this myself. But this was too far away. Therefore, I needed a real estate agent. Like I said, it was already 6 p.m., and I believe it was on a Friday.
I needed an efficient agent because my son’s move out date and the Escrow closing date (if I bought the house right away) would be sort of the same.
I Googled “Real Estate Agents in Bakersfield,” I called four or five of them. Either the calls went to voicemail or those agents who answered the phone said there was not enough time. It was a long shot, but I made one last call and Realtor Laura Diaz sounded positive and like a go-getter.
Laura reinstated my faith in Real Estate Agents.
I spoke to her at approximately 6:30 p.m. or later that night. She got right on it. It was 9 p.m. (the same night) when she texted me her progress. I was pleasantly surprised! “You will not believe this, but I think I got lucky and found an efficient agent,” I said to my wife on the phone.
I did not explain the time frame urgency to Laura. Simply, I stated that I wanted to buy the property. She listened attentively and without interruptions. The next day, she told me all about the time frame urgency that I already knew about. She had researched it on her own!
Laura kept me informed throughout the process, answering my questions since I am not familiar with the Bakersfield Real Estate ways and means. Finally, the staff of Placer Title-Escrow spoke highly of Laura.
To my ever-lasting amazement, Laura picked up the ball, ran with it, and did not drop it once! The transaction closed way ahead of schedule!
Thank you, Laura.
