Born and raised between a Southern Colorado small town and a hobby farm and kin to migrants, who worked the area’s coal mines, Kathie Scott has the ideal foundation for selling and buying properties in rural Colorado.
Over the course of 40 plus years running a successful ranching business and developing properties, homesteads, farms and wildlife refuges, Kathie has truly demonstrated her value of commitment, collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit.
While channeling her rural roots toward a business mindset, Kathie began her first business as an active 4-H member and volunteer, where she showed horses and won top honors with her horse in her small community. After furthering her business education at the first community college in the State of Colorado, Kathie managed several local businesses, before pursuing an opportunity as a Rural Mail Carrier with the United States Government. As part of her daily mail delivery routine, Kathie found herself traveling throughout the back roads, mountain passes and hidden paths throughout rural Las Animas County. All the while, being married to a rancher, she found herself traveling even deeper into the majestic canyons and other less traveled areas of Southern Colorado, but this time it was on horseback!
Kathie and her husband, Myron, are parents to two amazing children, who bear the same entrepreneurial drive and enthusiasm, in their adult lives. Eventually becoming a 4-H and rodeo mom, Kathie has been a pillar within the communities throughout Las Animas and Huerfano County, serving as a volunteer, founder and coordinator for many well revered gymkhana, rodeo, and agriculture events.
A rancher’s wife of 39 years, a mother of two wonderful children, grandmother and a public servant for 21 of those years, Kathie truly has cultivated a decorated life, full of experiences that have prepared her to be an authority on Southern Colorado living. Realizing this, Kathie took her entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for the land around her to the world of real estate, becoming a Colorado Real Estate Broker in 2016.
Kathie has built her career working among the best and brightest in the real estate world, where she is revered as not only a proven, and successful performer within the real estate community, but also a trusted advisor in home and property procurement and ownership. Kathie truly values the relationships that she cultivates as an agent and bears an innate passion for helping people realize their dreams.
