ABOUT KAREN A small town in northern Indiana's Lake Michigan "Region area" is where Karen found her roots early in life. Living so close to Lake Michigan, she developed a love for the beach and most anything outdoors. Her first job as a lifeguard was followed by many years with retailers. Karen earned an Associate's Degree in Office Administration, followed by a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Retail Management with a Marketing Minor. She worked for the City of Indianapolis for many years in the City-County Council/City Clerk's Office, which approves ordinances and budgets for the City of Indianapolis/Marion County. She held a number of positions with this office, finally departing as Deputy City Clerk. Being from a small town, Karen was fascinated to learn about everything involved with the operation of a "big city". While volunteering at her children's elementary and middle school, Karen served as chairperson for a variety of committees for many years. She also volunteered for her church as Directory Chairperson and Treasurer and President of the Women's Club. Karen also served on her 250+ home neighborhood's advisory council and was co-president for a few years. After a period of time, she entered back into the paid workforce. Eventually Karen found a good fit with a large major upscale department store in Indianapolis, where she excelled in the Mens' Shoe Department by earning consistent selling star awards from her store and region during her tenure. Feeling the urge to try something new, Karen then began a new career in real estate with Carpenter Realtors. Her love of people, compassionate nature, attention to detail, good communication and negotiating skills are a good fit for being a residential real estate broker. While putting together all components of a transaction, she strives for a high level of communication with her clients, making sure that they understand all of the processes of selling or buying a home. Karen has earned several listing and sales awards from Carpenter Northeast. Her client endorsements are provided for your convenience on this website. At Carpenter Realtors Northeast Office, an annual luncheon is held to support children of the LaRue Carter Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.
