About Justin

I am originally from Yamhill County Oregon where I was a police officer for thirteen years. During my career in law enforcement, I worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, and detective. As a detective, I specialized in child abuse investigations and was a member of the county’s major crimes team. I received a number of awards during my time in law enforcement including two meritorious service medals and the medal of valor. I routinely worked with some of the most sensitive victims in society and investigated many complex and difficult cases. I learned the power of advocacy, collaboration, problem-solving, compassion, and tenacity. I bring these lessons and skills to real estate. I endeavor to make meaningful connections with my clients to understand their needs and help them achieve their real estate goals. I also understand that buying or selling a home can sometimes be stressful. I know how to calm some of the most stressful situations and help bring about a clear resolution. My wife and I have owned three previous homes. In all three homes, we made significant improvements to the look of the home and obtained a great return on our investment. We found the process of transforming a less-than-turn-key property into something beautiful very satisfying. I live with my wife and three children in Lakeland. My oldest daughter is a student at Florida Polytechnic University. We previously lived on a 37-acre hobby farm raising pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens. While we no longer have the farm, I still maintain an interest in sustainable agriculture and love talking about our experiences on the farm. In my spare time, I love to hang out with my family, enjoy an occasional cigar, or listen to podcasts. Being from the pacific northwest, my wife and I love going out to sample a new beer or wine.

Above and Beyond

I recently had the opportunity to work with Justin James for buying my new home purchase. As you know buying a home can be a very tedious and stressful process because you want to get it right. I am glad I Justin was always available and kept me informed of what to expect every step of the way. His knowledge of the housing market helped me find and secure my new home. Best agent ever!

I had a HORRIBLE experience with the sellers and all of the nonsense that they put us through. However, Justin was amazing. He gave great advice and helped navigate through the entire process with more patience than I have. He went above and beyond and exceeded all of my expectations. He even ordered pizza for the family and had it delivered to us because he felt bad about all of the issues and delays the sellers were causing. Then when I met up with him to finally get the keys, he had a bottle of champagne and a gift card for Bonefish Grill for us. I will send anyone I know that's looking to buy or sell to him!
