My husband and I are first-time home buyers ! First, I found my mortgage officer (MO) by accident. (Another story !) Secondly, my MO found Realtor Julia who my MO highly recommended, and assigned Realtor Julia to work with us. We could not succeed without Julia's guidance, knowledge, patience, feedback, and teaching moments. When she presented us, she stood up and addressed a few issues for us. We never see before based on our past experience. When we had two preapproval mortgages in 2010 and 2015, we contacted previous agents, asking for their service assistance so far had been flaky at best. We were discouraged by previous agents that we could not buy our first home because we did not have money for a 20% downpayment plus other obstacles. We gave up from 2015 to 2022. October 2022 was when everything skyrocketed to process successfully. Through recent progress, we learned it is not always true with a 20% downpayment and other obstacles we had in past. We learned from our MO and Julia there are resources to find different options and different strategies on how to buy a home. I am Deaf using American Sign Language. My husband is hard of hearing. He relies on hearing aids to speak and hear. I was beyond impressed with her level of professionalism, knowledge, compassion, and enormous patience, especially with our overwhelming journey and my emotional considerations about lifestyle issues such as commute times, school quality, and neighborhood crime rates. Her ease of accessing constant communication by texting and emailing. I must praise her effort using Relay Service technology where we could see each other on live video via ASL interpreter. Julia's responsiveness and reliability were incredible. Julia was always available for home tours when we asked to see houses. We worked out our schedules together without any difficulties. It was a no-brainer for us to work with her since my MO found her and recommended her as a first-time home buyer specialist.
