I recently moved from Montana to Southern California. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to live. John was the most patient and dedicated Realtor during that time. He showed me properties all over until I finally settled on Big Bear, California. The trek up and down the mountain during the winter months was not the easiest, but he didn’t mind and he drove it from Orange County. We looked at quite a few properties before I settled on one. The first one I ended up backing out of the contract after the inspection process. Never during that time was eye pressured to move forward with the house. John always looked out for my best interest. Afterwards, I found the house that I currently bought. It WAS a process. John remained in constant communication with me during this uncharted territory and with me back-and-forth to Montana. I am now in my new home going on a week now and I couldn’t be happier. What can I say about my experience in buying my first home? Hmmm…. So much to say about it. Those days and weeks were one of the most stressful times in my life. To start, I changed jobs when escrow opened up (who changes jobs in the middle of escrow? Well, only me). As a single mother, balancing my time at work, submitting countless documents to mortgage lenders, and replaying their several emails was difficult. In addition, the uncertainty of now knowing and the waiting period to see if my loan would get approved was stressful, to say the least. I was close to canceling the deal and walking away, but I am so glad I did not. Escrow finally closed in June 2024, the nightmare ended, and a new beginning started. However, I could not have done this process alone. John Russo, my agent, walked by my side every step, even during his vacation time, answering my texts because I did not want to deal with other agents (yes, I feel bad now. I am sorry, John ?). He is the kindest, sweetest, and most understanding agent I’ve met. I cannot express enough gratitude to him for helping me through this process.
