We hired an agent prior to working with Jim. This agent dictated the things we needed to do to ready our house for sale and for the most part we complied. However, our house was stucco and the agent was insistent we hire an engineering firm to inspect the house even though we had a familiar contractor perform an evaluation and there was no evidence of damage. The last straw, we had several cats that left odors in the house which we felt were controlled with attentive cleaning. Nevertheless, the agent refused to list the house on multiple’s unless we hired a firm to do an enzyme analysis of cat urine. Jim on the other hand was a good listener. He also was a resource for market knowledge and valuable suggestions for listing, showing and selling our home. But, he was patient and amenable to our concerns. We didn’t always agree, but in those cases he would offer the potential downside of doing things our way and allowed us to decide. We found Jim to be a wealth of knowledge and experience, a support in the nasty business of selling your home and a most pleasant person to work with. He found a buyer in little more than a month who paid 91% of our asking price. We would recommend him to anyone.

Jim was incredibly helpful from start to finish with this entire process. We were clueless about what it takes to look into properties and purchase one, but Jim was always open and willing to answer any questions we had and schedule quick calls to discuss anything we were confused about. After his decades of experience he was very knowledgable, but still relatable. Jim was a delight to work with and incredibly supportive, communicative, and generous with his time and efforts throughout the entire process. He eventually helped us secure our home, but before that made sure we understood every step of the process before entering into it. Jim was a class act and extremely professional and knowledgeable during our process of home buying. He was quick to point things out and explain in detail his understanding of them and what to look out for in different homes. When we finally landed on a home he was supportive and helpful in aiding us into the the days of closing, and every other day therein. He came completely prepared to this first meeting at our home; with a printed book of surrounding home sales, market happenings, estimates, etc. Jim met with us as many times as we asked, and this was a lot as we had not sold a home in over 30 years. Each time he was on time and prepared. Any and all various questions were answered completely and confidently. Every time a home sold in our neighborhood prior to our sale, he updated our info with a bound booklet explaining how he would estimate the price of our home. On this note, we went with his suggestion and it proved to be perfect. You would not go wrong having Jim Venema as your realtor. We cannot thank him enough.
