Jim Smith

I am 76 years old and wanted to downsize and transition from a 2-level home to a condominium requiring no outside maintenance. I had anticipated it taking a few weeks, if not months, to accomplish. To my surprise, Jim Smith of Golden Realty was able to accomplish that for me in just a matter of days. The home was listed on a Wednesday (the first bidder turned out to be the eventual buyer) and was shown until that Sunday. Several other bidders came forward but ultimately the first one turned out to be best one. On the condo end, the process was just as flawless and smooth. I signed a contract with the seller on that Friday and was able to start moving in the very same day! All this speaks to Jim's years of experience in the local real estate market and to his consummate professionalism and many invaluable connections. I can't recommend Jim Smith and Golden Realty enough for anyone wanting to bypass the various hassles that buying and selling can sometimes present.

Jim took the time to explain everything and was easy to contact. The video of the house was excellent and he listed it with many web sites. If I was to do this again, I would certainly go back to Jim for his expertise.

We have followed Jim Smith and his work both at Golden Realty and in the community, so it was logical to use his services in the selling of our home. Both he and his Broker Associate Kathy worked to sell the house, despite the fact that Jim was on a Mediterranean cruise at the time. Timing was everything as we got an over list price offer within a few days of the listing going live. The process was relatively painless and closed on time. Coundn’t recommend them more heartily. Caveat - current results do not predict future results, but still worth the effort.

Jim Smith with Golden Real Estate After our property had been on the market for a year with no results, I began researching agents. It was time for a change. I identified about a dozen potential highly rated agents to call for an interview. I asked them how they go about marketing their properties. All of them said essentially the same: they photograph the property, add the listing to the MLS, do an open house. They all said someone “in the office” handled their social media by shooting an email to the other agents in town. (One agent I spoke to told me candidly that they simply delete those emails.) I hired Jim because he was the only one who did anything different and creative. He wrote a newspaper article for the Denver Post, which also went out to 12 local satellite papers. He actively promoted our listing on his website and blog. He personally sends out a newsletter. Because our HOA doesn’t allow “For Sale” signs on the property, he put one up on a nearby, high traffic cross street. His MLS listing included, not only photos of our property, but an audio/video tour of our condo, which he narrated to highlight helpful information that might not be in the MLS listing. Jim was also attentive. He always answered every phone call, email and text right away. If he couldn’t talk at length, he told me when he would call back. We always had updates. He advised us about suggested changes to contracts. I found him to work efficiently and with integrity. I would recommend him without hesitation. (I don’t usually do reviews like this, but this was a rather extraordinary exception.)

I went with Jim Smith because I know him as an honest man with integrity and vast knowledge in his chosen profession. He is alway available for any issues that may arise. He handled them with ease which makes the whole transaction run smoothly. He handled the advertising of my home in such a manner that I felt really special. Jim Smith is a special man.
