Jan Castner was educated in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Math and Science at Pennsylvania State University (1978). Jan worked with two international engineering firms for six years. In 1984 Jan made a life decision to rely on his own skills and technical expertise to provide a living and not rely on a corporate environment. As such, Jan joined RSR, REALTORS® as a licensed agent. The 1980’s provide the fertile ground for evolving into a TOP 10 agent in the Harrisburg area. In 1990 Jan was offered a partnership in RSR Realtors and became a licensed Broker.
Since that time, Jan has provided real estate counseling, brokerage and management services to retail, industrial, office and development clients from Fortune 500 class to Mom and Pop businesses in the commercial real estate sector. National and regional clients such as Walmart, Tyco, Dollar General, Borough of Lewistown, Burger King, Geisinger Health, Phoenix Rehabilitation and a myriad of other retail, industrial and office clients have benefitted from Jan’s enormous expertise in being the eyes for a client’s needs. Jan works real estate markets throughout the central sector of Pennsylvania including Altoona, Clearfield, State College, Allentown, Harrisburg, York and clients in between. His understanding of both real estate and engineering needs truly have created a fertile soil for many satisfied and repeat clients.

A Licensed and Certified Real estate Instructor for Realtor’s Continuing Education
A 6th Degree Blackbelt in many forms of martial arts and was ranked 5th in the United States in Fighting in 2001 (NASKA). Jan teaches self-defense not only in the class environment but also in community services such as Women’s Self Defense, Children’s Self Defense and is the only qualified Pennsylvania continuing education instructor in Self Defense for Realtors. Truly the discipline earned over decades of martial arts has given Jan a true sense of working through challenges both private and for his clients
