Jamal McCaskey is a licensed Realtor and experienced community servant with the support of a strong Keller Williams team. Jamal grew up in Birmingham and has lived and worked all over the metro area. Jamal has served the community in some capacity throughout his life. He was a public servant with the City of Birmingham over 35 years, including many years of providing quality customer service at the public libraries and with the Birmingham Police Department. Jamal has volunteered as a soccer coach and served as a committee chair at the Police Credit Union , board chair of YouthServe, and president of the Metropolitan Criminal Justice Executive Association. He volunteers with various other organizations. Jamal sees the impact of community involvement and brings his wealth of community service experiences to his real estate business. Jamal McCaskey is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Go Blazers!) where he earned a degree in Justice Sciences. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, an advanced leadership academy for law enforcement executives from across the globe. He applied those experiences to further his advancement in the BPD. Throughout his career, Jamal has built a solid reputation of being a trusted member of the community. As an officer, he received multiple Officer of the Year awards and numerous commendations. Jamal has investigative, administrative, and strategic experiences. He served as the commander of the city's South Precinct for five years, serving business and residential areas from the underserved to the very wealthy. Under his leadership, the precinct received the chief's Precinct of the Year award. Jamal retired as a deputy police chief after 30 years. Jamal McCaskey entered the real estate world to build upon his years of community service. Those prior relationships, knowledge, skills, and abilities give him a unique insight into locating, researching, and negotiating the best properties for his clients. Now Jamal applies that community focused foundation towards improving our quality of life in a very different method of service. He is dedicated towards maximizing positive experiences throughout your real estate sell or purchase decisions. Jamal spends his free time cycling, practicing yoga, cross training, reading, and volunteering.

Excellent, Professional, Knowledgeable, & Personal

Jamal was exceptional in assisting us with the purchase of our new home! From the beginning to the end of the process, he made us comfortable with decisions we were making and didn't rush us through the process. He was very knowledgeable with all aspects of the process and kept in touched with the lending representative to make sure everyone was on the same page. Even with submitting an offer that we began to feel uncomfortable with after the inspection, he explained we could sign a release if the seller wasn't willing to get repairs completed prior to closing. Consequently, this helped us with the purchase of the home for which we are now proud owners. We will, without a doubt, refer Jamal to other friends and/or relatives that are interested in buying/selling their home. Kudos Jamal on a job well done!
