Like many Gen Xers, we entered the market stone cold, without prior knowledge of the how and way things are done. Our initial agent wasn’t truly worthy of the term- he basically made himself available for offers, but was not involved in locating listings, and forget about offering any perspective on what prices were reasonable and/or which areas were safe. As it happened we bumped into our now dear friend Gwen at a listing where she was showing to one of her other clients. She greets all with an unphasable enthusiasm, and a big welcoming grin, and she is always asking questions and offering her experienced perspectives, and so we were immediately impressed. When asked if she would be our agent she was quick to say she wouldn’t poach another agent’s customers, but once we explained we rarely even talked to the current fellow she agreed. LUCKY US ! What followed was about a year of frequent viewings, with weekly phone chats about what/where she should look/find for us. She was active in determining our wants and enthusiastic about finding us top value prospects in our range. In the midst of this she also became curious about and engaged in our personal adventures, as well as including us in hers. Gwen is a rare bird. She is a person of utmost quality and integrity who genuinely cares for her clients, and endeavors to meet their specific needs as closely as possible, all the while immersing herself in their lives. She would be better than most at her job if she was just doing work, but she’s the best because she’s called to help people, which she does extremely well, because she truly cares about us. She pays attention because she’s honestly curious about and entertained by her clients and shared in our satisfaction when we finally signed papers. I can’t recommend her enough, she is a class act, and one of very few remaining professionals doing good things for the people in such a naturally personable way.
