Duncan Donahue

It does not get any better than Duncan Donahue. He was our buyer agent in 2011 and then our seller agent in 2014. He sets the gold standard for best realtors that I have ever encountered or worked with. Having purchased and sold three places and having met other realtors when friends were buying or selling, Duncan is simply the best in the Boston area. He is very smart, helpful and guided me through my first ever real estate transaction. He has a terrific network and gets access to early listings or pre-listing opportunities. He found us a buyer for our condo sale in Beacon Hill within a few days of it being listed. He was very supportive during an inspection we did a few years before that and has great resources. Very trustworthy and a pro-active communicator who keeps you in the loop. He is becoming a legend and earned it.

I worked with Duncan on the sale of my penthouse condo in Charlestown in April 2020, in what I hope was the darkest hour of the Covid epidemic. I had started with another highly reputable agent, but immediately ran into a considerable disagreement on price after signing the listing agreement. After considerable wrangling, the agent released me from the agreement and I signed with Duncan. One of the better and more impactful single business decisions I've ever made, yielding minimally $100k in additional sale proceeds, likely substantially more. Duncan and his team were the perfect contrast to the other agent. Incredibly responsive, hard-working (I often reached Duncan doing touch-up work in the then-vacant condo), and effective. Duncan's knowledge and confidence regarding when, how, and at what price to list as one of the first substantial Charlestown properties going to market in Covid was of crucial value to me. He was convicted that we could fetch $100k more than the prior agent's asking price, and we did, with a cash buyer who was able to close on our condensed timeline. Duncan's broad real estate advice- before, during, and after the sale process - evidences remarkable learning from his 20 years in the business. Even at the risk of doing a disservice to Duncan and any reader of this review by coming across as biased, I simply cannot recommend Duncan strongly enough. Thinking hard on the experience, I cannot recall something I wish he'd done better.
