I had been shopping for a few years for a home. I knew what I wanted and what I could afford. I also had a small window of opportunity to physically do a move only a couple times a year due to my work schedule. I had gotten approved a few months ago and my offer letter had expired and I didn't want to keep applying for credit and have the home I chose get sold underneath me before all the paperwork was secured and to have to reapply again in 6 months and play that game all over.
