I was not looking to buy, but our landlord was selling the house. Derrick was on top of things from the start. He took on this house purchase as if it was his own. He also helped communicate with the buyers. Very personal but professional. Openly communicated everyday on what was happening, telling us what to expect up to the day we signed. Let's just start here: BO IS AMAZING! My wife and I moved here from Australia a few years ago and we had been looking for a house since before COVID. We both lost our jobs due to COVID and had our savings taken down a little. Fortunately we both got our jobs back but the savings, not so much! We were a little hesitant to buy. This is when we were referred to Bo. We meet Derrick "Bo" at Out of Bounds brewery on a Sunday for a drink (being Aussie, I love a good beer). Bo was amazing, he made it sound so easy. Bo guided us in the correct way in the steps we needed to take to buy our first house. I would call him at any time of the day to ask questions and he would always answer or call me back straight away. Anything we needed he had the answer to, if not he would find out straight away. Bo is a straight forward and down to earth guy. We found our forever house- the first house we looked at! Bo had our bid in for the house that night. There were another 6 couples in the bidding war. Bo directed us and gave us great guidance to WIN the bid for the house. We have been in the house for a little over 3 months and are loving every second of it. Derrick is personable, knowledgeable about every aspect, no questions you might ask that he can’t explain or know where to go to get the info for you! He takes the stress out of the entire process! It was a “godsend “ having him there to glide right through the entire selling process! I stumbled across Derrick as I was starting out on my journey to accomplish an insane dream with little to no knowledge about buying property. From the moment we first spoke, I could tell he not only understood me but also supported me. Here I am, this single urban hippie rambling on about buying a cheap house on a huge plot of land in a rural area to set up as a communal retreat space for people to get in touch with their humanity, and Derrick was the only broker I spoke to who didn’t blow me off immediately. As we jumped into the hunt, he made sure I was well equipped with all the knowledge and resources I could possibly need to meet my goal of closing before the year was up. Over the course of the next few months he and I had one helluva ride, from two mile long gravel driveways to pushing my minivan out of a mountainside ditch to a house burning down completely in a wildfire while I was in contract. Derrick has gone into literal trenches with me, yet he has always maintained his good humor, professionalism, and thoughtfulness no matter what absurd idea or daunting challenge I threw his way. As I get settled in to my new farmhouse and think about how difficult it’s been to hunt down this crazy dream of mine, I appreciate how tremendously lucky I’ve been to have made it this far.
