Licensed in 1975, I launched my real estate career with a commitment to excellence that quickly made me the top agent in the marketplace throughout the 1980s – and I proudly maintained that standing for decades. Over the years, I’ve been honored with numerous national and international awards recognizing my sales achievements. Among all of them, the accolades I value most are the many Quality Service Pinnacle Awards I’ve received, which reflect my dedication to delivering exceptional service to my clients and customers.
In the 1980’s, I became a partner with Ruth Smith and Kevin Smith and together we built the Smith Hourigan Group into one of the regions most respected real estate organization – known for superior ethics, integrity and leadership in the marketplace.
In August 2024, Kevin and I merged our firm with Classic Properties. This partnership provided our agents and clients with enhanced tools and technology, enriching everyone’s experience. With the merger, I have been energized by the positive changes, new relationships and expanded opportunities this collaboration brings.
The merger has allowed us more time to concentrate on my strengths, assisting our clients and agents in positive ways and allow more time for sales and family in my daily activities. In 2025, I closed nearly 14.5 million dollars in sales including two residential sales in Mountaintop with prices of nearly 1 million each, the highest sale prices for the year in the marketplace.
Giving back to the community has always been deeply important to me. For 40 years, I served as President of the Mountaintop Hose Company No. 1 and continue to serve as a trustee. I spent 15 years as a trustee at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston and recently finished a nine term on the Board of Directors of the Luzerne Foundation.
Through the years I have served on various boards throughout the community and have done a lot of "Good" in every organization I participated in.
My wife, Sharon and I are both Mountaintop Natives and have been married for 44 wonderful years. We are the proud parents of Kevin and Meghan, two remarkable young adults who inherited my drive and dedication to excellence. I am grateful every day that my real estate career allowed us to provide them with outstanding educational opportunities and life experiences.
I am both extremely proud of all of my successes and also humbled by the trust and confidence that the thousands of people I interacted with over the years placed their trust and confidence in me for five decades.
