Dave is the consummate Realtor, and was invaluable from the first minute we saw the property until (and after) the day we closed. We worked with Dave on a particularly challenging transaction -- acquiring a property in a "short sale," in which both the seller and his lender were likely to take a loss, thus the possibility of negative motivation. Dave had thoroughly evaluated the property, advised us on market value, pricing and negotiation strategy. When our initial offer was rejected by the lender as being too "below market," Dave engaged reputable appraisers to identify truly comparable properties, bringing the selling side back into a realistic mind-set. First let's get it out there. I put my grocery list in a spreadsheet. I am sure that I would be a nightmare for most real estate agents. I am that kind of guy. I had spent about 9 months in San Francisco looking at neighborhoods, prices per square foot, distances to public transit, you name it. I didn't go into this process without tons of information and tons of research about what we wanted and where we wanted to look. After interviewing several agents we went with Dave because of his expert understanding of the city, easy-going nature, responsiveness and connections in the business. All of those characteristics proved huge assets for us during the process. At the beginning he listened to what we had already done in research etc and didn't take us through "his" process. He was very responsive to questions and feedback and we didn't have the experience of going to properties that didn't meet the criteria we detailed at the start.
