Following the loss of our father less than two years ago, our mother had decided to update their house so that she could both make the most of it in the coming years and not have to worry about those normal household issues as she got older. My brother and I were more than happy to help her with the changes she wanted but sadly for us, she was unexpectedly reunited with our father just as we were completing the final updates. We were sad, of course, but it also felt like the house was sad too: empty, quiet, dark and 150 miles away from where we worked and lived. When my brother and I finally decided to sell the house, we knew we needed to find the right realtors for mom’s house and for us as well; We needed someone who understood what it is like to sell mom’s house. Colleen & Bruce Ray were truly what we needed to sell our mom's house. They were everything and more that anyone could ask for from someone in the sales/service business. My brother lives in Alaska and I live in Texas, so selling a home in California presented numerous challenges. However, The Ray Team stepped in and turned those challenges into stepping stones and made the process as simple and painless as could be. In what way? Let me enumerate. First of all they have a professional attitude and demeanor. They also have a team that assists them who also demonstrate professionalism, from their videographer to their back room people. The Ray's know the Real Estate market in Ca but even more specifically, in The Colony, where my mother's house was locatged. As Realtors and Appraisers, they possess such and understanding and it became evident in the various discussions we had. They also are willing to ask questions and listen to our concerns, providing credible reasons for certain actions taken. Those areas are expected in Real Estate Agents, but the Ray's exhibited a higher degree of understanding in these areas. But even more than this, they went above and beyond in helping us with the elimination of my mother's furniture, setting up curbside bulk pickups, taking some to a local charity and hiring a company that disposes of items my mom had. The property that was for sale needed a number of minor repairs and they took the point in interviewing and obtaining bids from a variety of contractors, selecting the best most reliable contractors and then overseeing their work, even fronting the expenses that were eventually reimbursed at the close of escrow. Trying to accomplish this from Texas would have been very difficult, but they made the process easy, seeing that everything was done prior to our 30 day escrow closing date. Amazing work! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a realtor to consider working with them!
