I met Claudia several times as she went door-to-door leaving fliers. We sometimes spoke about any plans for selling my house. She impressed as friendly and proactive. For these reasons I reached out to Claudia when the time came to sell. During our first conversation, she gave me comps for my Mesa Verde community and asked what I wanted to list my house for. She found my price realistic and we moved forward. We inspected the house looking for improvements that would prepare the property for sale. Claudia helped me to prioritize jobs. She recommended excellent painters and plumbers who did great work at reasonable prices. And she always consulted with me before starting work so that I made the final decision. For example, I opted to use a cleaning service owned by my gardener’s wife whom I had known for years. While we discussed staging for prospective buyers, serendipity stepped in. Another realtor was passing out fliers and asked about my plans to sell. Long story short, she had clients in the market for a Mesa Verde home, the agent reached out to Claudia, and we signed a contract in about week. Escrow opened and closed without incident. Claudia sent me all documents as soon as she had them, and followed up to see that I signed them off in a timely manner. We did not list the house, it was sold ‘as-is,’ and the buyers were satisfied with their home inspector’s report. Claudia has her finger on the pulse of the market. She understands what buyers are looking for in home design. At our first meeting, she commented that a buyer would likely remove an interior wall to open up the floor plan. Sure enough the buyers removed the wall! Claudia urged me to communicate through her and not directly with the buyers or their agent, which made sense. And I think I surprised Claudia when I would not discuss any favorable tweaks to the sale price. I explained the buyers were just the kind of people I wanted to see put down roots in Mesa Verde. All’s well that ends well!
