Katy O'Connor Smiechowski became a licensed Realtor® in 1991 and has been actively involved in the growth of Terrie O'Connor Realtors (TOCR) since its inception. In her role, Katy oversees TOCR Professional Development and the Terrie O'Connor Realtors Real Estate School, which she and her team successfully opened in 2012. She works as a full time Real Estate Broker Salesperson, has managed multiple TOCR sales offices over the years and is an integral part of the company leadership team. Due to her dedication and top achievements in real estate, Katy has been awarded both Circle of Excellence & Million Dollar Club recognition numerous times through the years, and has been named one of Bergen County's Top Real Estate Agents in 2020 and 2021 by Bergen Magazine.
Katy earned a Masters Degree from Columbia University Teachers College in Curriculum & Development and a B.A., from Rutgers College in both Elementary Education and Psychology. Katy was awarded the New Jersey Sally Mae First Class Teacher Award while she worked as an elementary school teacher in the Upper Saddle River public schools for seven years, where she taught kindergarten, third and fourth grade.
Additionally, Katy has served the community in many capacities through the years, including: President and Trustee of the Upper Saddle River Board of Education; Board Member for Archer Cooperative Nursery School in Allendale; numerous community volunteer positions through the Upper Saddle River Recreation Commission, USR Public Schools, Northern Highlands Regional High School and St. Joseph’s Regional High School. She currently serves on the Northern Highlands Sports Association, the Greater Bergen Association of Realtors Grievance Committee and is a Trustee for The Grace Foundation.
