When it came time to start looking for a house I contacted my brother who has been a mortgage broker for over 20 years. I asked him to refer an experienced real estate agent who was familiar with Oakland county. He gave me Carrie Thompson’s information. After a quick introduction, I provided Carrie a summary of what I was looking for and my preferred areas. She set me up in her real estate portal and I was soon getting notifications of all the new properties hitting the market that met my criteria. Over the course of a few weeks we toured about 15 or 20 houses and condominiums. The market in my area is incredibly competitive and every place I was interested had multiple offers above list price after just hours on the market. I found a perfect condo in Rochester Hills that met 100% of my criteria and placed an aggressive bid. Within hours the seller’s agent contacted Carrie and shared some competing offers that exceeded mine by $15,000. For me, it was just too much so I bowed out. A couple weeks later another unit in the same complex went up for sale. It was a bit smaller but was still a perfect place. Carrie contacted the seller’s agent who stated they would be showing the condo though the weekend and then making a decision Sunday evening. By Sunday afternoon Carrie had gotten a sense of where the bids were coming in from the seller’s agent. At 4:00 pm Sunday we submitted a bid. At about 5:30 Carrie contacted me to let me know the seller accepted my bid. Two days ago I closed and took possession of my new home. Out of hundreds of realtors out there, it’s important to find one who really knows what she/he is doing, especially in a highly competitive market. I had immediate trust in Carrie and was grateful for her guidance throughout the process. If you are ready to start looking for a home, you’ll do yourself a lot of good if you contact Carrie.
