Carolyn Snyder has been Byron Windward Farm LLC’s Critical Success Factor since I was referred to her in 2012 by my father’s attorney. I was the executrix of his estate and needed the best of advice to prepare and sell the properties my parents had treasured for thirty years. For a decade, Carolyn prevailed over the worst the heirs could throw at her. In May of 2022, she achieved the sale of our six unique Shepherdstown, WV farm properties at a very strong market price. She did so with exquisite knowledge of the competition, locally and afar. With her vast experience, she understood and responded to the one-of-a-kind, challenging market presented by the pandemic. She knew where the right money was likely to be, as well as the right buyers who would appreciate the historical and architectural significance of our 200-year old estate. Carolyn orchestrated the various contractors, zoning possibilities, complex rights-of-ways, showings, farming contracts, PR, marketing, advertising, realtors and potential buyers, to create a competitive atmosphere for 70-acre estate with equine facilities, as well as two lovely ten-acre building lots, and three modest building or farming lots. She was asked to prove her worth time and again to the heirs, who gave her a rough time. Carolyn kept her eye on the goal and diplomatically shepherded everyone to it. The new owners are thrilled to be the caretakers for Windward’s next phase, adding, updating, enjoying. That we are friends with them is a testament to Carolyn’s professional expertise and personal insight.
