There Can Be Only One.
There can be only one. It's funny how a memorable movie line can transcend through various genres to include the real estate business. In 2009, my wife and I purchased our first home in San Diego. Although I had friends starting up in the San Diego real estate business, I was deployed on an aircraft carrier, and Jamie was home alone making the decisions on this house. After researching realtors, she came to the conclusion that Bruce Levine was the realtor for us. Long story short, Bruce made her feel comfortable from the start. A no-nonsense, roll-up-your-sleeves type of guy, Bruce was brutally honest and told Jamie not what she wanted to hear, but what she needed to hear. Ultimately, our first home purchase was a resounding success because of the efforts of this man.
Fast forward seven years to 2016. What started out as a family of two had grown into a family of five! We loved our home, but came to terms with the fact that we were rapidly losing space. Jamie found a home right near ours that would be perfect for our growing family. Think back to that quote, "There can be only one..." In this present day, we have even more friends in the San Diego real estate business, but we have also been burned by mixing friendships with business before. Jamie and I had some soul searching to do, but in the end, we went with what we knew. Our experience with Bruce was so positive the first time, that it, like the movie quote, transcended our friendships. We gave Bruce our business again, but this time it was to simultaneously buy a house while selling our own; a feat not easily overcome.
Bruce went to work quickly and expediently working with the selling agent of the house we wanted and started to talk contingencies. In the meantime, our house went on the market quickly. We navigated the waters of pricing our home, offers on the potential new home, and everything in between. We knew his work ethic from our first transaction, and were constantly reassured.
