As a first time buyer there are a lot of things you don't know, or you think you know and soon find out you have no clue. It can be extremely tricky out there and you will often find, especially how the market is today, that you are on the short end of the stick in the real estate game. I had a couple of really rough starts with two different property agents in the Asheville area that literally scammed us on inspections we did not need using the wrong people. When we decided to look in Morganton instead we lucked out finding a great house at a great price and then finding Brent Heaberlin. This is the man you want to deal with if you are in the market. He even went *personally* to our house, purchased and installed some downspouts and got a crew of his people painting all the window trim and doing a yard cleanup so we could lock in the right date and financing on time! He even did the walkthrough via video with his phone when we could not make it from out of town. That's the kind of thing that sets Brent apart, and it is exactly what you hope to find in an agent. This man is out there FOR YOU, making extra trips, staying in touch, informing us along the way what our options were and what we needed to do. Not only did we get an amazing house at an excellent rate and price, but we got it in 45 days during the pandemic when real estate in western NC was going bonkers. We met Brent on a Sunday afternoon after calling the Realtor number on the house ad. It was the luck of the draw that we got Brent. But I don't believe in luck, so I would say God was looking out for us that day. Brent arrived about an hour after our call and driving for a least 30 mins from Hickory to Gamewell. He was very happy to show us the house and stayed as long as we wanted, which was several hours. He did a lot of legwork for the negotiating and gave good advice in the final bits for getting us the house that we wanted. He has wonderful resources for inspections and fixing things and has great knowledge of the area.
