Oh, the dreaded Bio. You know, the awkward (usually required) scenario to write about yourself….
OK, I’m just going to recall what I’m usually asked and hopefully that should suffice…lol.
Usually, the first thing I’m asked is “Are you from around here?” To which I reply something like, “Lake Mary High School grad (take a guess at what year) and now living right here in Longwood, FL with my wonderful husband, two beautiful boys, and our dog Bailey Bear.”
Shortly after that question is the good ole “What did you do before real estate?” This part I really enjoy sharing. For one reason, because of the sometimes shocked expression I get to witness, and for another reason, because of how genuinely appreciative people are when I say “Well, I was in the Air Force for 8 years (which I truly loved) and when I got out, I worked for Boeing for a while as a software test engineer. After I was unfortunately laid off from Boeing, I decided to go back to school and finished my bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Mental Health Counseling at UCF”.
Lastly, people wonder, “How did you go from THAT to becoming a realtor?”
Well, I knew that the office cubicle working with software just wasn’t for me. I wanted to be “out there” working WITH people and for me - MY goal has always been to help others reach THEIR goals. It makes me happy to be a helpful part of their journey and being a realtor allows me to do just that (plus it’s challenging, fun, and so rewarding). It would be an honor and a pleasure to help you reach your goal. How may I be of service?
