After graduating with a Master of Science degree in Textile Engineering and Fashion Management from the University of Applied Sciences in NRW Germany, Anika negotiated major trade deals, margins, and sales prices with the head buyers of leading European and American department store chains. Thriving in fast-paced environments, she was responsible for garnering multi-million dollar sales deals and retail strategies, overseeing marketing campaigns while setting brand & product market positioning and pricing strategies for well-established European and American fashion brands.
Anika has strong roots in Germany and Finland, where she grew up and spent her youth. Anika emigrated to the US in 2005. Since she has relocated many times and has experienced first-hand all that it entails, building a life in a new town/city/state/country. Anika's sales and marketing executive career took her in myriad directions: from Amsterdam to London, Boston to Dallas, Annapolis to (finally) New York City/CT. This whirlwind of "start/stop" has given her a unique understanding of the subtle differences in business practices, work culture, and social etiquette.
