We recently made over a 1200 mile move to the Bradenton / Sarasota area leaving family and our home of 16 years. Not knowing who to work with we went with a referral from a colleague. Alfredda ”Fred” Smith-Odato hit the ground running! She was very knowledgeable about the area, the market, the regulations and restrictions in each neighborhood, local shopping, restaurants, sights to see and a must do list once we get settled! She was a wealth of information! We flew in on a weekend to do a marathon house hunt. Fred worked endlessly to develop a list of homes to see. Fred honored our limited time and helped us set up a meeting with a mortgage broker to obtain a pre-authorization letter to have on hand if the perfect home came into view. Fred continued to help us thru the many steps, making the offer, the bidding war, the inspections, setting up utilities till our closing day. Fred supported us every step of the way. Fred was always a phone call or an email away. She made our transition go effortlessly. I did not mention this was not our first move nor was it our fist long distant move. We have moved 7 times over the past 30 years. I must say I do not remember any our realtors going the extra mile to make sure we are adjusting to our new surroundings after the closing. Fred has stayed connected checking in from time to time with a friendly email or text to see how we are doing. She has even taken the time to invite us out to explore the areas dining that the locals keep secret. Fred is a hidden gem. She is more than a realtor she has become a friend who I would recommend to anyone looking for an honest, meticulous, thorough, compassionate realtor.
