Founded in December 2001 by longtime real estate professionals John Mangas and Kathy Kuyoth, REMAX Preferred Associates was built on the belief that people matter more than property. In 2022, the company entered its next chapter when Angela Decker joined John Mangas on the ownership team, acquiring Kathy Kuyoth's ownership interest. This transition carried forward the foundation and values established more than two decades earlier while bringing a continued focus on innovation, growth, and investing in the tools, technology, training, marketing, and support that allow our agents to provide an exceptional experience for their clients.
In 2026, we proudly celebrate 25 years in business and a quarter-century of serving the communities we call home.
Today, REMAX Preferred Associates is home to more than 120 real estate professionals serving communities throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Our associates bring extensive local knowledge, experience, and a commitment to helping buyers and sellers navigate every stage of the real estate journey. Whether purchasing a first home, selling a longtime family property, relocating, investing, building new, or moving into the next chapter of life, our goal is to provide knowledgeable guidance and personalized service from beginning to end.
Our commitment to people extends far beyond real estate. Giving back has been part of the culture of REMAX Preferred Associates for decades. We are proud longtime supporters of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, with our agents and company contributing through individual donations, transaction-based giving, fundraising events, and community initiatives. Our annual Cinco de Mayo fundraiser has brought our agents, clients, friends, and community together for more than two decades in support of local children and families. We have also expanded our fundraising efforts through the Miracle Makers Golf Scramble, bringing together local businesses, sponsors, agents, and supporters to raise additional funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Our commitment to our community also extends to local organizations, charitable initiatives, volunteer opportunities, neighborhood events, and causes that make Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan better places to live.
