I look into their work ethic, professionalism, and how good they are at their job. I also look into whether or not they are detail oriented, as that is super important in real estate. Dave, had an excellent understanding of the real estate market in the area. Offered many pros and cons about how to present the house; as is, value of renovating, buyer interests. Dave, kept us informed and updated on a regular basis. He provided details and gave us ample time to make decisions. The million dollar question seemed to revolve around how much to renovate. A very difficult question with no guarantee. Dave, was able to show comparable renovated homes which helped for us to determine how much renovation we went with. The biggest value the Dave provided was his management of the renovations. We had already moved out of the area, prior to the renovations being completed. His management and referrals of contractors was priceless. Referring, directing and managing the work on a regular basis was indispensable. This, to us is what earned his commission.
