•Alex was a pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about LA overall (which was super useful to us as newcomers) and had especially deep understanding of Venice and its various neighborhoods. Whatever our question or concern, Alex was able to answer or address it either personally or through his colleagues at Pardee. We looked at properties all around the city and as far away as Long Beach and Alex was always happy to arrange a showing for us, working diligently to accommodate our schedules and make things as easy as possible for us. We are sure that we could not have found and closed the deal on our new home without him. He is exactly what you hope your realtor will be and delivered on our behalf throughout the process. We are very grateful to have worked with him and for his substantial efforts on our behalf.
Elle Davidson stepped in to cover for her colleague (representing us as sellers) on our escrow already well underway and shortly afterwards, the buyers cancelled, only to regret immediately that they had done so and they returned with a new offer. She was superb at communicating with us, offering strategy alternatives, and laying out options for choosing how to proceed. And she gave us her full and immediate attention when we needed it. She is calm, matter of fact, and experienced, all great qualities in the process of making real estate transactions happen. We recommend her without reservation.
From our first meeting last spring, we liked Matt a lot. He gave us great advice about prepping, staging, move planning, and market strategizing, and was a valuable resource to the tradespeople who could help us make the house shine. And, most importantly, he connected us to the folks who bought the property. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. While we realize real estate agents have a demanding job, there were a few occasions (more so on phone than in-person) where we didn’t feel we had Matt’s full attention. There were instances where we submitted requested info and Matt would later request it again, not remembering we had already submitted it. Understandable if it’s once or twice. But if happened enough times where it was noticeable. There were a couple instances where he forwarded us feedback (e.g. inspection reports, replies from potential buyers, etc.) without providing any of his input or letting us know about further steps he took that weren’t indicated in the feedback/reports. While we appreciated his forwarding us things as soon as he was able, it would have been helpful to have gotten his input /further actions/suggestions about the information so we’d have a more complete picture when reviewing things for the first time. That said, and overall, Pardee got the job done, and our house sold and we are grateful. Matt enlisted Elle Davidson to get us over the finish line when he had to leave for a long-planned trip to Europe, and she stepped in admirably to make it happen.
