Things with Tom started out very well. We had a contract within 8 days. After some fixes we were on track. In the end, things didn't run so smoothly. Due to a lack of communication, the "final walk through" never had a firm time of taking place between both sides. No exact time was conveyed to be out of the house which caused the buyers lawyer/realtor being involved and making demands straight through me! I expected Tom to be the buffer between us but that was no communication on both sides. Additionally, the realtor for the buyers said to my face that she was the lawyer and I was to be out ASAP! I had never met the woman previously. Finally, due to scheduling and weather issues, the new roofing job has not been completed as of yet. The other lawyer is withholding $10,000 from the sale even though I have paid the contract for the job in full. Is that even legal? My experience of owning a home in NY was great until the end. John is a great realtor who is always willing to go the extra mile for his clients. John helped me through the process of selling my house, and was great at communicating what I needed to get the house listed. He was always on top of keeping me in the loop on offers that I received and I was very knowledgeable of the current real estate market. John was always willing to help me with the little things, such as coordinating things between my attorney, inspectors, and even with getting rid of items in the house so the new buyers could move in comfortably. John is overall a great realtor and is it attentive to the needs of his clients.
