My siblings & I were tasked with selling our deceased fathers home. Josh Slaubaugh was presented as a possible agent because he was related to my youngest brother. I proceeded to vet him as any responsible client would do. I went on Keller Williams website and discovered he had not sold a house nor did he have any pending sales. He actually cuts trees down for a living. At that point I called him directly and he told me he had not sold a house in over 2 years and when I asked him for references he wouldn’t provide any. I conveyed these thoughts to my siblings and their response was they trusted him which I found astonishing. He was also unfamiliar with the real estate market in Fauquier County. My siblings opted to go with him despite my protestations. The house was appraised around $560K and he severely underpriced it and it sold around 6 days after it hit the market for $512K. The home was a CapeCod sitting on 10.5 acres with a pond. Keep in mind that it’s a sellers market rite now and the asking price was very low. The fact that it sold in 6 days should have been a huge red flag. Josh Slaubaughs primary responsibility was to that of sellers but instead, he thought only of himself. He mentioned to me that he was broke at the time and I would not recommend him to anyone wishing to sell their home. He lacks experience & integrity.
