But I am making an exception because I must comment on the extraordinary talent and professionalism of our real estate agent, Judy Michaelis, in representing us in selling our Westport home. My wife and I have owned our home for 16 years and have bought and sold two other houses in two other states before purchasing our Westport residence. I met with Judy three times over the past year (as well as other agents) before hiring her. Each time I was struck by her superior market knowledge and insights, pricing recommendations and listing advice, and quiet confidence. Once hired, Judy made the entire listing/selling/negotiating process seamless and much less stressful than what we had expected given our previous experiences - which is all the more remarkable since we were combining a potentially toxic mix of emotion, money, uncertainty and change. She knew when to be firm and when to be flexible, what mattered and what didn't. She was always available, patient, responsive and on top of everything. As importantly - given that this was a difficult transition for us (plus COVID) - she was tremendously helpful in assisting us in our next move as we "right-sized" and there is no question that it was her vast network and connections that made that possible. I realize this is a business transaction but my wife and I both felt that Judy cared about us and was sensitive and thoughtful to our next move, literally and figuratively, that she not only put our interests first but went out of her way to help us - even before we had signed with her.
