My husband and I had a complicated situation. We had to sell our house in Longmeadow, MA, while simultaneously buying our new house in Ellington, CT. (We had a "Hubbard clause.") We could not buy until we sold. Since we lived in Massachusetts, we were working with a MA realtor. My husband and I had been looking for a new house for almost a year. We initially were just looking in Massachusetts, but we became open to looking for houses "south of the border." (lol) However, our MA realtor was not licensed in CT, and we did not want to use a different realtor from his company who was licensed in CT, because -- although he was licensed in Connecticut -- he was not very familiar with CT.
