I've known about the Toril Sells House Team for over 10 years living in Pierce County, WA - initially through seeing the billboards of her and her son! ;-) I'm not one to be swayed by such advertising, but I AM one to take notice when I hear about realtors that are looking to give back to their community. When we began the process of selling our home, Toril's agency again caught my eye. Our listing agent Lisa Hudson was fantastic: guiding us through the process of preparing our home, setting reasonable expectations, helping us through difficult decisions, sometimes talking us off of precarious ledges, and ultimately helping us to sell our home! It was not an easy process - and Lisa helped us the entire way. Of note, I certainly appreciated the time Lisa spent educating the BUYER's AGENT on the proper process of helping THEM buy our house. Frankly - she should have earned HALF THAT commission as well! ;-) So yes - the broker relationship with fantastic. BUT - the thing that really interested us was Toril's commitment to GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY! Contributing a portion of the commission they earned on the sale of our home to one of five local non-profit agencies was a blessing! So - in selling our house through Toril's Team, we were able to financially contribute to a local agency providing emergency shelter for homeless families with children as well! And THAT was VERY COOL! Lisa Hudson, Toril White, and the entire Toril Sells Houses Team will be my Realtors for Life! Thanks folks!
The Toril Sells Houses Team helped me sell a home in Puyallup in March 2020 (full asking price and received multiple offers before the open house). I worked with Valinda Horstman who was an absolute professional and very knowledgeable. Valinda was spot on with her estimate of the home price recommendation and I did receive offers for over the asking price. Our house was on the market for 2 days and we accepted an offer that closed in less than a month. I reached out to Valinda in May as I was interested in buying a quaint, refurbished Craftsman in S. Tacoma. Valinda's specialty is selling homes, so she introduced us to Olga Petrenko whose specialty was buying homes. Toril Sells Houses works as a team, like a task force so they have depth in resources. This approach allows quick responses and actions. They never miss any calls, always quick to respond to emails, texts, or phone calls. Olga showed us many homes and the one home we really wanted had multiple buyers that did pre-inspections and gave offers well over the asking price. Olga helped us with our strategy, and out of the 7 bids, we won and just closed on June 12, 2020. Selling a home and moving is difficult and stressful in the best of circumstances. Doing it in the midst of the COVID-19 shutdown is another issue entirely. The Toril team was wonderful in helping me through this process. There were a few glitches getting accuracy in the online documents that required my signature, but these were rapidly resolved, and my agent Valinda was fantastic. She went far beyond what one might consider the normal duties of a realtor, making everything work and helping me in many ways with my move. I highly recommend the Toril Sells Houses Team.
As a real estate professional myself, I know too well how many moving parts there are to real estate and how any one of them can spin off into another direction at any moment during the transaction. I decided to hire someone to help me and Toril Sells Houses Team seemed like the best choice because Toril is a local expert, they were all enthusiastic, and they were even helping me before I decided to list with someone other than myself. Their photographer was so amazing that we got one offer right away from some people who didn't even see the house in person, but as a team, we discussed our options for moving forward with such an offer and decided to postpone reviewing offers until more buyers could see it over the weekend and during a well-promoted, sunny, Sunday open house. The plan worked. Buyer traffic was fantastic and we got into contract with some amazing, well-qualified buyers who, thankfully, were slightly ahead of the first phase of the COVID-19 quarantine where all things real estate were temporarily shutdown for about a week. It got a little nerve wracking during that time, but thank goodness Toril and team are as cool as cucumbers. :-) Real estate was soon back open for business with a few common-sense limitations. We closed on time! The whole team was professional, respectful and friendly. They worked with me on every detail that I thought was important, and they never made me feel bad or embarrassed about having very out-of-date features including yellow linoleum flooring in my kitchen and a 1980's time capsule of a basement. I recommend Toril and her team!!! Oh, and it's worth mentioning --- when I bought this house 23 years ago, Toril was my agent and it was her first transaction. It's been super fun watching her business bloom over the years and then connecting with her again on that anniversary to promote and sell my home. Life is good!
