I could write an entire book on why I won’t work with or recommend these two people ever again but for the sake of time, here are the highlights: 1) the entire “team” (agents, inspectors, broker, etc.) did not seem competent; 2) at the last minute we had to shift the closing day because seemingly no one with the loan originator’s office wanted to work over the holidays (the close date was set obviously weeks in advance);3) the agents tried to conduct a final walk through without my spouse or I present… which came off incredibly suspect; 4) when my spouse and I asked how one of us could close remotely, there was no clear and timely communication… my spouse and I both ended up having to be in person, which is ridiculous in the year 2026;5) at a certain point during the process, it seemed the agents were more interested in helping the eventual sellers sell their house as opposed to my spouse and I buying a house… this became evident upon close when over half of the contractual resolutions were not fulfilled by the seller. It wasn’t until I called out Todd and Laurie that resolutions actually took place, but they seemed fine before being called out to not do anything about the issues;6) inspection and inspection resolution was simply awful. Todd and Laurie absolutely pissed away our negotiating advantage as ideal buyers. I truly believe with other agents my spouse and I would have saved a five-figure sum once issues were found during inspection; 7) when the sellers proposed a “solution” to the major issue found during inspection, it was quite possibly the worst and most idiotic proposal ever put into words. Naturally Todd and Laurie thought this abomination of an idea was great and recommended we agree to it… although I knew the proposal was very suboptimal, I reached out to multiple plumbers for advice and all of them responded in a similar fashion: “obviously this won’t work;”8) I talked more with my previous realtor during this process due to lack of confidence

I had the pleasure of working with Todd and Laurie Mefford when selling my home in the city of Leavenworth, KS. Todd and Laurie are locals to this area and understand this market like the back of their hands. They were honest and straight forward with me in what the home could bring and what it may end up selling for. Todd and Laurie went all out in featuring our home from drone videos to 3D imaging and blue print modeling of the home, to organizing several open houses. The Mefford's even went as far as staging our home for us and making sure that our house was ready for any potential buyers while we were out of town. The negotiating process was even more impressive. Todd and Laurie were in constant contact with us and making sure they fully understood what we wanted and needed from the sale of our home but also keeping a balanced understanding of what the buyers needed and wanted. I wish I could pocket these two incredible realtors and use them in every city I move to, which happens often in my career. There is only one team to use in my book and it's Todd and Laurie Mefford.

Not only were Tood and Laurie superb real estate agents but they went above and beyond to do things since we had already moved out of the state. They sold our house very quickly and for more than the asking price. They kept us informed of all actions taking place and insured that we understood the impacts. We would give them a higher rating but 5 stars is all the system allows. We highly recommend them if you are selling your home.

Todd and Laurie’s experience with long-distance sales and moves was one of the main reasons we worked with them on the sale of our parents’ house. They knew our time-table, helped us with all the details to prepare for listing, including finding an inspector up-front so that we could identify needed repairs to the home, engaging cleaning services, and hiring a stager to prep the house for photos and the open house. (None of which would have been easy for us to do from across the country!) We had offers on the house almost immediately. Laurie and Todd laid out the offers in a way that made them easy to evaluate. Their communication was excellent throughout the process, with no question too small for them to answer for us…and no problem too big for them to help us navigate (including a hail storm that damaged the roof just a couple of weeks before closing!) They made an emotionally challenging (and physically distant) sale as easy for us as humanly possible. Would recommend them in a heartbeat—they know the Lansing/Leavenworth market well. It was an absolute pleasure to work with these A+ professionals!!

I was in the mortgage business for 20 years and have sold five homes for sale by owner. I would never recommend any realtor that brought buyers to sell the homes and few agents that were in different states that I would recommend. But once I had interaction with Todd and Laurie. They changed my mind about the way they sold houses as a seller. They kept me updated on everything that was going on from start to finish so they treated me that way. I can’t imagine how great they treated the buyer for me once you use Todd Laurie, I don’t think you use anybody else except if you went out of the area that they didn’t sell houses
