Few things in life are as stressful as the process of trying to sell your home and choosing the right realtor is more than just hiring a representative to walk strangers through your bathrooms and closets. My own journey in this endeavor turned many stones over that I hadn’t anticipated and, thankfully, I had Tina Kavelage to guide me through it. Now, the moment you mention that you are considering selling your house everyone you know will recommend somebody to list it. There are no short supply of realtors! I knew I had a daunting task ahead of me as I had purchased a foreclosure in 2008 in a “transitioning” area of Atlanta and had pour so many years of sweat-equity into making it a home. The first few people I had interviewed spent very little time walking through the house; rather, they sat me down at a table with marketing plans, statististics, social media trends and a bunch of fast talk that had obviously been rehearsed. At the conclusion of their spiels, they all wanted to list the house at far less than I was comfortable so that they could make a quick buck and move on. I seriously considered just doing it myself. When Tina came over she walked me through the entire house with pen and paper in hand. She asked me questions about every room, every nook and took notes on the details I gave her. She scheduled a photographer for pictures that highlighted the the house’s charm, arranged all the paperwork (there is A LOT of paperwork), communicated every step, answered every question, calmed every fear and treated my house like it was her own in a professional manner that never once felt transactional. In the end, she sold the house in no time for roughly 30% more than anyone else I interviewed had predicted!!! I cannot thank Tina enough for all her hard work and motivation to sell my home. Her constant communication every step of the way was the holding-hand I needed to get through and she is definitely my only choice as an agent should I buy/sell a house again.
